Loved One's Cognitive Changes: Practical Strategies
Do you have a loved one who is going through cognitive changes – looking for some practical strategies? Join Jennifer Muskat – Co-Founder & Chief Client Officer – Full Bloom Memory Care on Wednesday, August 12th at 5:30pm CST at our Highland Park office, 799 Central Ave., Suite 100.
In this program, Jennifer will share practical strategies for supporting a loved one through cognitive changes. The discussion will address why dementia can change communication, routines, resistance, and daily caregiving — and why approaches that once worked may no longer be effective. A central theme will be the importance of understanding the whole person: their Life Story, routines, preferences, comfort cues, and stress triggers. Families will leave with simple tools to reduce distress, preserve dignity, and create more moments of connection.
Jennifer Johnson Muskat is the Co-Founder and Chief Client Officer of Full Bloom Memory Care. Jennifer works closely with families navigating cognitive change, caregiver overwhelm, resistance to care, and the emotional decisions that come with supporting a loved one at home. Through Full Bloom, she helps families build care around the whole person — their Life Story while providing guidance, support, and a more thoughtful approach to memory care.
Registration is required. There is limited seating. Seating will be based on first-come, first-served. You can register for Jennifer’s in person program by emailing Marti at mgreenberg@forwardfocusmed.com no later than August 10th.
